Hump Day Wednesday

I didn't get up as early as I wanted to today, but hey....I'm alive.  That's always a PLUS!  So, my YA novel (which I'm currently putting the final touches on), 'Best Geeks 4never' has topped 280 pages, 117, 00 words. Had been holding out for sooo long, but on Sunday, I made the tough decision to break it into two books, parts 1 and part 2.  The second will continue right from the first.  What does this mean?  I think it just means more editing for me  [sad face].  As if I haven't done enough already.

Exciting news:  an Honors English class of sophomores will read my ARC copy before it stands the e-stands!! So looking forward to that.

Fun pic of the day..my mom's fruit salad makes me happy:

Bloggin' vs. MS Word

You know, one thing I really love about blogging?  No AutoCorrect.  I'm convinced that it is making my brain slow, slow, slow.  I'm find myself typing things that I KNOW are wrong.....and I'll stop, sit back, and wait for it to change to the correct word or punctuation.  Blast you, AutoCorrect!

These geeks......(lol)

I don't think these three girls are in it for the long haul.  By the end of my book, this three-way friendship may not last.....

      -Keep writing, Kish.

Kaitlyn and Olivia....

Well, I last discovered that Kaitlyn was intimidated by her quiet, shy, sweet friend Olivia.  That seems pretty strange for BFFs.  So, how long have these chicas known each other?  The two girls first met one another in ninth grade, when Tab walked over an introduced herself to Kaitlyn.  Kaitlyn and her brother, Aiden, were new to the school at the time, but while Aiden was able to make friends fast and easily, his sister was not so lucky.  K had no one to hang with, not a soul, and so she sat lonely every lunchtime.

Tab looked over one day from where she and Olivia were sitting, saw K, and headed to over to make a friend.

Typical Tab.

Really, part of her did it to spite Aiden, who she already had developed a small hatred for her.  Tab hated popular kids, even from then.  Funny, it seems that her friends should have known just how deeply she felt.....

Might as well pick up where I was working....
I stopped writing due to a death in my close family, but I can't let that happen.  Must keep going.  Time to rejuvenate the 'ol keyboard.   Soooo, ......

I wonder if my characters, Tabitha, Olivia and Kaitlyn are personable enough.  I mean, they're imperfect right?  As they should be, especially Tabitha, who is riddled with faults and contradictions.  Tab is selfish and flighty and deliciously excitable.  If someone's going to change their mind at the drop of a hat, then that's her. That's fine.  What I don't know is if my readers will like her.  As the leader of her group, she's sure not a good one.

But......Kaitlyn looks up to her, even though she wouldn't admit it.  And speaking of Kaitlyn, I just realized something......she's intimidated by Olivia, her quiet, sweet best friend.  Hhhmmm.  Funny how the strangest realizations hit you late at night.  Must ponder this.

KEEP ON PLUGGING...

2013 PLEDGE

I will not let tragedy halt my writing, instead it will be the fuel.
