Why is it....

....that the best scenes write themselves in your brain at the WORST possible times?  I had this happen to me last night, coming off of my 2-year old niece's ALL day b-day party, finally collapsing into bed, exhausted, and discovering that the characters were talking!!!   Sighhhhh.....

Before that, it happened when I was driving from Kmart, after cramming in some last minute shopping, and racing to get back to the laundry before some anxious customer pulled my clothes out of the dryer.  Rounding a deep corner, was when it hit me!  That's how two of the main characters fall in love!!!!  'Okay fine, guys, I heard ya.'

But they wouldn't stop there....as I drove, those two lovebirds continued to harp on and on about their steamy lives....

Working....

...super hard to get this novel OUT de door!!!

I cannot WAIT to shove it (and a couple of other pals) out into the world.  I keep cajoling this little book, saying, 'the world is ready for you now.'  Hopefully, the sweet talking will be enough to get it going, to give confidence enough to be born.

Why am I awake?

Early morning........
working to make deadline and wondering WHICH book to work on right now.  Should I be good and continue as planned on Book 1 of the series that NEEDS to be released on April 1st?  Or can I steal this morning for another project......

Decisions, decisions.......

One thing is sure though......the April 1st deadline has GOT to be met!

Birth of a YA Horror junkie.....

As a kid, reading YA paranormal fiction (in those days, ghost stories and haunted doll stories) was where it all started.  This strange, unbridled love for the gruesome macabre.  (That and the fun of scaring yourself so badly, that you couldn't sleep without nightmares for at least three nights in a row!)  Back then, you didn't know what it was called, but you knew that you liked it.  And that you had to find more books like this somewhere: either on the small, lonely shelf in your teacher's classroom.  Or crammed in between the kiddie books on your cousin's bookshelf, wrongly discarded and forgotten.  Or even in a dusty box of books, with half of the covers ripped off, being tossed from your school library.  Those were the places where we unsung paranormal YA lit fans found our horror classics and got started.
