Fear is BACK with The Shelf 2: Cursed - Aug 2014 release

Tintd Teen Press would like to announce the upcoming release of The Shelf 2: Cursed times Three, scheduled for August 2014.  ‘Cursed’ is the novella that falls between the first two installments of the Dead-End Ave series, a YA Horror/ Thriller novel series by Kish Knight.   This 2014 debut series follows the story of a teen, who in doing a simple blood swap with a dying friend, instead takes her place in being marked for death.

Death and horrific occurrence continue in The Shelf 2: Cursed times Three.  Stay posted for the cover reveal, coming on July 31st, shortly followed by the book release on August 30th.  This series is classed as ‘light’ horror.

I have not posted in at least 3 weeks, simply because I've been figuring out how to give my BLOG a fresh new look, WHILE plotting the scheme for the 1st novella of the Dead-End Ave series, The Shelf 2: Cursed times Three, AND while launching www.tintdteen.com!

BUT, I wanted to post today, because I have decided to make the The Shelf 2 a 'special' project.  If you read the first book in the series, then you know that I've charged myself with releasing the next two books in the series in 2014.         Read more...

Shallow Characters??? Why Not!

Are my characters shallow?

Yep, well, …um…I just guess they are.  The big secret?  I wrote them like that!!!

Case study:  The Shelf……

This novel is NOT supposed to be a deep, heavy midnight read.  No, not at all.  In fact, the Dead-End Ave series is bringing back the fun, light-hearted ‘teen-chiller’ reads.  Remember those??

Perfect for the summer, read it in a couple of days, and spend weeks after shaking your head at the shallow/ quirkiness of the characters.  I know all about these types of novels, having spent my pre-teen and teen years tearing into them.  Some of my personal favorites, from back-in-the day:
Weekend by Christopher Pike

April’s Fools Day by Richie Tankersley Cusick

Party Summer by R.L. Stine

The Perfume by Carolyn Cooney

Remember these???

Maybe in the future, readers might remember The Shelf and the Dead-End Ave series “fondly” like this too: ‘Man, were those characters shallow, selfish, silly…and ALL other things that make books fun and light-hearted.’

I know.....I've been M.I.A., (and not Miami, either).  Missing, from this blog, because I was....gasp.....writing!

FINALLY, I know!

The thing is with releasing Books, Books, Books and then soliciting Reviews, Reviews, Reviews, and then supporting your author friends, is that you still have to turn around and
WRITE, WRITE, WRITE,
otherwise,
.....you'll lose all of your hard-earned reader interest.

Readers want to see progress....and BOOKS.....and REVIEWS.....and POPULARITY.  Sounds like high school all over again....***Kish

[Love to all my supporters who grabbed The Shelf  (even though yours truly has been busy working on the sequel,
The Shelf 2:Cursed Times Three, instead of marketing)!!!!!!]

Tuesday's Peek into The Shelf!!!!

It's a Tenacious Tuesday!!, so let's take a peek inside The Shelf...

As she turned the most perfect pirouette ever, Bri’s dance instructor nodded approvingly and Bri preened under the attention.  Then she moved skillfully into the next routine, fully aware that there was a room full of scouts watching.  Waiting to snap her up for their prestigious dance institutions.  It was the first day of the rest of her life.

            Just one last turn….

There was a touch on her shoulder, light enough to just have been a whisper of breath, but startling enough to make her stumble and fall out of formation.  A groan of disgust rose through the onlookers, and she watched in dismay as, one by one, the scouts began to file out.

Opening her mouth to call after them, she was surprised when no sound at all came out.  And then the temperature of the air in the room dropped sharply, until she could see her breath coming out in quick puffs.  As she watched, horrified, a figure formed in the frigid air, features indistinct save a pair of hideous, horrible, glowing red eyes….

            Bri screamed….as her phone rang.

Deanna’s loud sniffling over the line was enough to snap Bri right awake.  “Oh God, Bri!  Wake up!  Wake up!”

“What?” she asked groggily.  “What time is it?”  She fumbled from underneath the covers to find her watch.

“It happened again.  Aeryal got attacked again!”

The watch, finally located on the nightstand, hit the floor as Bri froze in shock.  ‘No…’
